Mapping Malmö’s Nightlife – A New Study on Inclusion and Safety

STPLN, in collaboration with Inkonst and as part of the PULSE project, is launching a data-driven study to map Malmö residents' relationship with their nightlife.

Through a youth-led research group, the project explores why people go out—or choose not to—with a specific focus on safety, accessibility, and the experiences of marginalized communities.

In October 2026 the result of the study will provide concrete recommendations for a more vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable club culture and nightlife. By involving young organizers and audiences directly in the data collection, we ensure that future strategies for Malmö’s club culture are built on the needs and voices of those who shape it.

The study is led by Pentti Lindén, PULSE Strategist and Julie Goodrich, research assistant at Malmö University together with participants in the PULSE project.
